This role ensures efficient unloading/receiving, storage, inventory management, and loading/shipping while maintaining safety, accuracy, service-level agreements (SLAs), and cost controls. The Warehouse Manager leads teams, drives continuous improvement, and ensures operational excellence to meet client requirements.<br><br><strong>What You’ll Do<br><br></strong><strong>Operational Leadership<br><br></strong><ul><li>Oversee end-to-end warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, loading/unloading, staging, and storage. </li><li>Lead, coach, and develop warehouse staff; ensure effective staffing, onboarding, training, performance management, and succession planning. </li><li>Drive execution of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, service, quality, and cost. </li><li>Manage operating expenses, including labor planning, scheduling, overtime control, and discretionary spending. </li><li>Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and standardized processes. </li><li>Champion continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, root cause analysis, standard work) to enhance operational performance. </li><li>Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve dock and warehouse productivity. </li><li>Partner closely with Human Resources and Talent Acquisition to manage full-cycle recruitment, including candidate selection and onboarding. </li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally with Claims, Customer Service, Pricing, Safety, HR, Finance, and Sales to support service delivery and business growth. </li><li>Oversee timekeeping and workforce management, including timecard approvals, attendance monitoring, PTO management, and shift scheduling.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Powered Industrial Truck Training <br><br></strong><ul><li>Serve as a certified Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Trainer, delivering OSHA-compliant training for forklift and material handling equipment operators. </li><li>Conduct classroom and hands-on instruction to ensure safe equipment operation. </li><li>Evaluate operator competency and issue certifications as appropriate </li><li>Provide refresher training following incidents, near misses, or observed unsafe behaviors </li><li>Maintain training records and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards<br><br></li></ul><strong>Safety and Regulatory Compliance<br><br></strong><ul><li>Promote and maintain a “safety-first” culture, ensuring full compliance with OSHA and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. </li><li>Conduct regular safety audits, facility inspections, and operational walkthroughs to proactively identify and mitigate risks. </li><li>Lead incident reporting, investigations, and root cause analysis; ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions. </li><li>Monitor and drive safety performance metrics (e.g., TRIR, near-misses, corrective actions), holding teams accountable for results. </li><li>Partner with Safety teams to ensure compliance across equipment operation, dock safety, and employee working conditions. </li><li>Ensure proper maintenance, inspection, and documentation of warehouse equipment, including forklifts and material handling equipment. </li><li>Lead regular safety meetings, training sessions, and awareness initiatives to reinforce safe work practices. </li><li>Ensure compliance with equipment preventive maintenance schedules and all regulatory inspection requirements. </li><li>Enforce safe operating practices in all environmental and weather conditions.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Compliance, Quality & Inventory Control<br><br></strong><ul><li>Ensure compliance with customer requirements, freight handling standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, TSA, C-TPAT, as applicable). </li><li>Maintain accurate inventory control through effective use of WMS and cycle count programs. </li><li>Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, claims, and service issues. </li><li>Ensure proper cargo handling, labeling, and documentation in accordance with freight forwarding standards. </li><li>Maintain high levels of accuracy and quality across all warehouse processes.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Additional Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Support special projects, system implementations, and operational initiatives as assigned. </li><li>Perform other duties as required to support business objectives.<br><br></li></ul><strong>What You Bring<br><br></strong><ul><li>5+ years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or 3PL operations, preferably within a terminal, distribution center, or cross-dock environment.</li><li>2+ years of leadership experience supervising teams in a warehouse, logistics, or operations setting.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.</li><li>Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to drive engagement, accountability, and performance.</li><li>Proven ability to implement process improvements and deliver measurable operational results.</li><li>Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>Working knowledge of DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations, 49 CFR, OSHA PIT regulations, and general workplace safety requirements.</li><li>Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification; experience evaluating or certifying operator proficiency is a plus.</li><li>Solid understanding of warehouse safety practices, compliance requirements, and operational best practices.</li><li>Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to calculate rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret operational data.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with evolving processes.</li><li>Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.</li><li>Ability to interpret written, verbal, and technical instructions and translate them into actionable processes.</li><li>Additional certifications, such as OSHA or Lean/Six Sigma, are a plus.<br><br></li></ul>No relocation allowance will be considered unless specifically addressed.
