Vice President of Technology

LeadsOnline is seeking a Vice President, Technology to lead technology strategy and engineering execution across our investigative SaaS platform and product suite. This senior leader will be responsible for building a high-performing technology organization that delivers secure, reliable, scalable solutions with strong development discipline and operational rigor.

The VP of Technology will modernize the platform, improve delivery predictability and quality, and enable adoptable AI capabilities, implemented responsibly with strong governance, auditability, and security. This role is accountable for how things get built and shipped, partnering closely with the CEO and product stakeholders on planning and prioritization while ensuring technology decisions accelerate customer value, improve product performance, and support growth in a PE-backed, fast-scaling environment.

Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Architecture

  • Define and execute the company's technology strategy aligned to business priorities, customer trust, and long-term platform scalability
  • Own platform architecture, including performance, availability, resiliency, maintainability, and observability
  • Lead modernization initiatives that reduce technical debt, improve developer productivity, and increase speed-to-market without compromising stability
Engineering Delivery & Execution
  • Lead end-to-end engineering delivery across teams; establish predictable planning, clear commitments, and strong execution management
  • Lead transformation across teams at varying maturity levels, including teams transitioning from waterfall. Establish code quality standards, automated testing, CI/CD, release management, and documentation
  • Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality releases with measurable improvements in defect rates and production stability
  • Partner with product management to modernize delivery practices across product lines, coaching teams through methodology transitions and building shared planning disciplines
Security, Privacy & Trust-by-Design
  • Own the company's security posture and secure SDLC practices, including identity/access controls, vulnerability management, incident readiness, and audit logging
  • Ensure sensitive data handling and privacy-by-design principles embedded into architecture and engineering workflows
  • Partner with Legal/Compliance and Customer teams to meet governance requirements and maintain customer confidence
AI Enablement (Adoptable, Governed, Measurable)
  • Build the technical foundation required to deliver AI capabilities customers will trust and use: data readiness, scalable services, evaluation, monitoring, and cost controls
  • Establish AI governance appropriate for public safety workflows, including transparency, traceability, auditability, and human-in-the-loop controls
  • Ensure AI features are production-ready and supportable with telemetry, operational playbooks, staged rollouts, and clear performance expectations
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to deliver AI that improves investigative workflows and drives measurable customer value
  • Drive adoption of AI-assisted tooling across engineering workflows (code generation, testing, documentation, code review) to improve developer productivity and quality
Data, Integrations & Platform Ecosystem
  • Own reliability and scalability of integrations, ETL, APIs, and data pipelines that power customer workflows and ecosystem expansion
  • Improve platform telemetry and analytics to measure system performance, product usage, and AI effectiveness
  • Ensure interoperability and consistent user/system performance across products and customer environments
Operational Excellence (Reliability, Observability, Supportability)
  • Establish strong production operations: incident response, root-cause analysis, postmortems, and systemic remediation
  • Improve monitoring and alerting, on-call readiness, and performance management for mission-critical systems
  • Drive technology practices that reduce operational load and improve customer experience
Leadership, Talent & Culture
  • Lead and develop engineering leaders and teams; build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Assess, develop, and where necessary restructure an existing engineering organization. Define roles, career paths, and performance standards. Recruit and retain top technical talent
  • Foster strong collaboration across engineering, data, and customer-facing functions
  • Build credibility with an established team by demonstrating competence and follow-through before driving structural changes
Executive Stakeholder Management
  • Provide clear, metrics-driven visibility to executive leadership on delivery progress, risks, dependencies, resourcing, and technology health
  • Drive alignment across teams to ensure technology investments support customer value, operational stability, and company growth
M&A Technology Due Diligence & Integration
  • Lead technical due diligence for acquisitions, including security posture, architecture, scalability, data risk, and technology maturity
  • Own post-acquisition technology integration planning and execution to ensure stability and continuity while enabling product/platform alignment
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of technology and engineering leadership experience, including leading multi-team organizations in B2B SaaS
  • Proven track record improving engineering execution, including leading Agile transformations in organizations not yet operating in Agile (planning discipline, delivery cadence, QA automation, CI/CD, and release management)
  • Strong technical and architectural foundation with experience scaling secure, reliable cloud-based platforms
  • Experience building security and privacy into systems handling sensitive or regulated data
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and retain high-performing engineering leaders and teams
  • Comfortable operating in PE-backed and/or high-growth environments with high accountability and urgency
Preferred Experience
  • Experience operationalizing AI/ML in production (evaluation, monitoring, governance, cost/performance controls)
  • Experience in public safety, government SaaS, or other high-trust environments
  • M&A integration and technical due diligence experience
  • Experience leading distributed teams across multiple geographies
  • Experience of operating as the senior delivery leader in an environment where product management is lean or still being built
