Online Writing Instructor (1099 Contractor)

Rideau Writing Academy is hiring an experienced online writing instructor to teach live small-group writing classes for learners ages 9–14 through Outschool.

This is a remote 1099 contractor opportunity ideal for educators who enjoy helping students grow in writing, reading comprehension, and literary analysis in a supportive online environment.

Current Need

We are seeking one instructor to begin with approximately 5–10 live classes per week, primarily during evenings and weekends.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience teaching or tutoring children online
  • Strong writing and grammar skills
  • Comfortable leading live virtual classes
  • Professional communication and classroom management
  • Warm, engaging teaching style
  • Reliable internet and technology setup

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current or previous Outschool teaching experience
  • ELA, writing, literature, or homeschool teaching background
  • Teaching certification or degree in education, English, or related field
  • Experience working with middle school learners
