We play a crucial role in various scientific fields, including chemistry, pharmaceuticals, forensics, environmental analysis, and biochemistry, among others.</p><p></p><p><b>How will you make an impact?</b></p><p>The role of a Field Scientist Application is to provide scientific expertise and support to customers, sales teams, and internal partners within CMD (Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division) to resolve complex analytical challenges by utilizing chromatography and mass spectrometry techniques. Primary responsibilities are to support customers through onsite and remote post-sales training and application support related to (but not limited to) the implementation of Chromeleon CDS and other Enterprise software solutions, and qualitative and quantitative data acquisition and data analysis using the software in the clinical, environmental, food safety and pharma markets. Additional responsibilities include providing Enterprise Software related pre-sales support to our sales team at customer sites and remotely to position them for successful wins.</p><p></p><p><b>What will you do?</b></p><ul><li><b>Product Positioning and Optimization: </b>Consult and demonstrate to customers Thermo Fisher Scientific Enterprise Software solutions; assess the customer information technology and laboratory environment to assist in the identification of creative solutions for software implementation. Prepare technical responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), User Requirement Specifications (URS) and assist in designing the solution architectures. Support the implementation of Enterprise software at key customer sites.</li><li><b>Product Training: </b>Conduct product training for customers virtually or remotely, in their laboratories, or at another onsite training center on the accurate use and application of Enterprise software.</li><li><b>Product Support: </b>Collaborate with customers and internal teams to customize applications and methodologies post implementation. This includes troubleshooting, method development, and data interpretation. May be responsible for collecting data from customer experiments or field trials, analyzing the data using statistical methods, and providing insights or recommendations based on the findings. They should be able to interpret scientific data accurately and communicate the results effectively. Actively assist in the resolution of escalated customer issues & complaints.</li><li><b>Technical Presentations</b>: Deliver and assist in the creation of presentations to highlight the capabilities and benefits of Enterprise solutions for various applications and laboratory environments.</li><li><b>Drive Collaboration:</b> Work cross-functionally with internal teams, including marketing and sales, to support strategic execution of the customer training process.</li><li><b>Scientific Support: </b>Stay informed about the latest scientific literature, methodologies, and regulatory requirements. Acts as a trusted expert to our customers to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty which contributes to the overall success of the business. Provide scientific support and counsel to internal teams and customers and identify improvement opportunities.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>How will you get here?</b></p><p></p><p><b>Education</b></p><ul><li>A bachelor degree (or higher) in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related scientific field and/or equivalent work experience.</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>Experience</b></p><ul><li>2+ years of technical experience with chromatography and mass spectrometry instruments, software, data analysis, and techniques.</li><li>Technical experience with information technology infrastructure (Operating Systems, Networks, Relational Databases, Cloud Computing Platforms).</li><li>competency in qualitative and quantitative data acquisition and data analysis using Chromeleon CDS is required.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities</b></p><ul><li>Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.</li><li>Outstanding teamwork and collaboration skills to foster creativity and contribute to the team's success.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide guidance on product usage and optimization.</li><li>Persuasive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.</li><li>This position may require up to 75% travel.</li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><u><b>Compensation and Benefits</b></u></p>The salary range estimated for this position based in Georgia is <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">$75,800.00–$113,575.00.</span><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left">This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
