Job Overview

We’re seeking enthusiastic, eco-conscious individuals to join our award-winning team as Eco Kayak Tour Guides in Austin, TX. As tour guide, you’ll lead sunset, evening, and weekend tours, sharing the beauty of Austin’s waterways with guests. This part-time role is perfect for outgoing people who love nature, kayaking, and providing exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and break down kayaks and launch areas.
  • Lead guided eco-tours, sharing insights about local wildlife, history, and ecosystems (training provided).
  • Ensure guest safety and assist with paddling techniques.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to create memorable experiences.
  • Promote tour sales and engage with guests to enhance their adventure.

Qualifications

  • (Must have) Evening availability for approx. 6-8 hours on one or more days and/or Weekend availability for approx. 6-8 hours (evenings beginning at 5pm preferred).
  • Kayaking experience (recreational or professional).
  • Passion for the outdoors and eco-tourism.
  • Outgoing, customer-service-oriented personality.
  • Comfortable and confident on the water.
  • Available to work multiple days, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs (kayaks) – required.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Outdoor/water safety certifications, First Aid/CPR, or guiding experience are a plus.
  • College students are encouraged to apply!

Preferred Qualifications

  • Availability for 2-3 days or flexible availability throughout the week.
  • Availability for on-call (2-hour notice) for tour guiding.
  • Availability on Saturday evenings.
