Depreciation Report Inspector

Job Summary

We are seeking an outgoing and energetic team member to join our rapidly expanding company specializing in depreciation reports and building inspections on Vancouver Island. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting site inspections of strata-owned buildings (condominiums, townhouses, commercial properties etc.) and completing the subsequent depreciation report or building inspection report.

This role requires strong communication skills to interact with clients, excellent written communication in the form of emails and reports and strong computer skills (excel, word, outlook etc). The successful candidate will be required to work from home on their own schedule, with daily email or phone communication as required with Coast Strata team members and clients.

Duties

  • Coordinate site meetings with strata representatives and enter data in the company tracking systems
  • Conduct building / site inspections of strata properties with strata representative(s).
  • Obtain and review any building documentation (previous depreciation / inspection reports, online data, contractor receipts, building plans, strata meeting minutes etc.)
  • Complete and submit drafts of the depreciation reports / building inspection reports to the strata councils
  • Run the financial modelling software and submit three financial models to the strata for review
  • Review strata feedback and update reports as required and / or submit the Final Report
  • Participate in team meetings, work collaboratively with team members and respond proactively to emails / phone calls
  • Maintain schedules and complete submittals in accordance with timeline commitments

  • A professional engineer registered as a member in good standing with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of the Province of British Columbia
  • A person registered as an architect with the Architectural Institute of British Columbia
  • A person registered as an applied science technologist under the Professional Governance Act
  • A person designated Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute by the Appraisal Institute of Canada
  • A certified reserve planner accredited by the Real Estate Institute of Canada
  • A person designated as a Professional Quantity Surveyor by the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Valid driver's license, an acceptable vehicle and reside on Vancouver Island
